East Java Regional Police Chief Provides Psychosocial Support to 70 Orphans Affected by Covid-19 and People with Disabilities

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Surabaya. The East Java Regional Police provide psychosocial support for orphans affected by COVID-19 and people with disabilities at Brawijaya University, Malang, ' Care for Tough Indonesian Children'.

This activity was simultaneously held by all Regional Police in Indonesia and was attended by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and National Armed Forces Commander Marshal Dr. Hadi Tjahjanto, Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, and the Minister of Ministry Of Women Empowerment And Child Protection, I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati, virtually at the National Police Education and Training Center.

In his remarks, the National Police Chief said, of course, I hope that this counselling program must be carried out ongoing. So it doesn't stop just today. So I ask in particular Mr. As SDM, Bureau of Psychology, this activity is sustainable so that we can continuously know how the psychological growth of our children.

Make sure whether to open special hotline services using applications or maybe come in person to find out how the psychological development of our children is, said the National Police Chief when giving a virtual speech at the National Police Education and Training Center.

Meanwhile, in Regional Police at East Java, this activity took place at Brawijaya University, Malang. East Java Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector-General Nico Afinta, together with the chairman of the East Java Regional Bhayangkari, Ully Nico Afinta and the leading officials of the East Java Regional Police and the Malang Regional Leadership Communication Forum, provide psychosocial support to 70 orphans affected by COVID-19 and people with disabilities in the Greater Malang area.

The East Java Regional Police Chief and the Bhayangkari Chair also gave necessities to orphans affected by COVID-19 and people with disabilities. It aims to provide the mental strength that children have. Do not lose interest in activities. It helps overcome sadness without protracted and can build good communication without any obstacles. These 70 children, 24 children, 34 teenagers and 12 with disabilities, received assistance from the psychology team from the Human Resources Bureau (HR) of the East Java Regional Police.

The East Java Regional Police Chief said this event was held simultaneously throughout Indonesia, attended by the National Armed Forces Commander, National Police Chief, and the Minister of Social Affairs and the Minister of Ministry Of Women Empowerment And Child Protection.

"The purpose of this event is, we are both from the government, National Armed Forces, National Police, as well as from educational institutions, as well as the whole community. We are expected to pay attention to children affected by COVID-19, where the parents include father or mother, or both who died, that we can share," explained the East Java Regional Police Chief.

The Regional Police Chief further explained that, among us, this has already been going on. The Regional police Chief is very confident because he once held an event for 7,400 affected children to be provided with health care facilities.

"So we are working with Social Security Administrator for Health, and each child gets a Social Security Administrator for Health card so he can seek treatment at any hospital in the East Java Region for treatment, especially in all Bhayangkara hospitals, this also applies to colleagues from the National Armed Forces because I believe Mr. Military Regional Commander also held the same activity. Of course, the Mayor and other regional heads as well," said the East Java Regional Police Chief after participating in the activity.

"This cannot run without the support of the education element. I am sure that with a good education for children affected by psychosocial problems, they will still have the spirit to move forward and stand alone. Then, hopefully, the situation will get better, we will continue to implement health protocols, and the economy can run," concluded the East Java Regional Police Chief.
