Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Surabaya. Banyuwangi City Departmental Police successfully discovered 48 drugs cases during the 2021 Tumpas Semeru Operation for 12 days from September 1 to 12. The cases are detailed into 24 amphetamine cases and 24 Trex pill cases, with 58 people named suspects, three of them women.
The case discovery in this Tumpas Semeru Operation is the third most case in East Java Regional Police. Banyuwangi is appreciated for the drug eradication efforts.
"There are users, dealers, and recidivists who have been conducted drugs criminal offences and got arrested again", Chief of Banyuwangi City Departmental Police said during a press conference on Thursday (16/9/21).
Not only that, but Police also seized cash worth Rp6,110,000, 41 units of handphones, nine digital scales, six units of motorcycles, and one car.
Thanks to the cooperation and hard work of the team and the community, Banyuwangi City Departmental Police got third place after Surabaya and Sidoarjo City Departmental Police on their effort of drugs eradications.
"This achievement must be appreciated because this is our result of hard work from the colleagues on the ground and public information that has always been contributing to us for this many case disclosure", Chief of Banyuwangi City Departmental Police said.
The perpetrators are subjected to Article 114 paragraph 1 and 2 sub Article 112 paragraph 1 and 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 about Narcotics and threatened by a five year minimum in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison and Rp10 billion of fines.
Besides that, they also violated Articles 196 and 197, as mentioned in Article 106 paragraph 1 of Law No. 36 of 2009 about Health, and threatened by a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of ten years.
