inp.polri.go.id – Banjarmasin. The South Kalimantan Police's Drug Investigation Directorate destroyed 744.39 grams of confiscated evidence of narcotics, which consisted of methamphetamine and ecstasy.
Head of Sub-Directorate (Kasubdit) 2 of the Narcotics Directorate (Ditresnarkoba) of the South Kalimantan Police, AKBP Zaenal Arifien, said that these narcotics were confiscated during the January 2022 period from three Sub-Directorates of the Narcotics Directorate in Banjarmasin, on Thursday (3/2/22).
There were 126 packages of methamphetamine weighing 639.97 grams and 271 ecstasy pills weighing 104.42 grams from 22 cases and 29 arrested suspects. The details consist of Sub-Directorate 1 as many as 44 packages of methamphetamine 218.15 grams and 98 pills of ecstasy from 8 cases and 11 suspects.
While Sub-Directorate 2 of the Narcotics Directorate, there were 63 packages of methamphetamine weighing 250.40 grams from 7 cases and 7 suspects. And Sub-Directorate 3 confiscated 19 packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing 171.42 grams and 173 ecstasy pills 62.28 grams from 7 cases and 11 suspects.
Kasubdit 2 of the Ditresnarkoba of the South Kalimantan Police, AKBP Zaenal Arifien, who represents the Director of Drug Investigation of the South Kalimantan Police, Kombes Pol. Tri Wahyudi, conveyed that the destruction was an order from law as well as to prevent any officer of misuse over the confiscated evidence.
"So we left only small amount of evidence for proof at trial, and will immediately destroyed after the prescitor passed the judgement," he explained during the destruction at the South Kalimantan Police Tahti Directorate building.
AKBP Zaenal Arifien emphasized that the war on drug trafficking still continues and the public has an important role in providing information so that the community can be free from these illicit drugs. "If someone has already become an addict, they can immediately go to rehabilitation center to recover and live a normal life again," he said.
