inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Thousands of workers are planning to hold an assembly in front of the Office of the Ministry of Manpower and BPJS Head Office, today, Thursday (17/2/222).
The assembly led by The Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) voiced their two demands: to revoke the Regulation of the Minister of Manpower Number 2 of 2022, concerning Procedures and Requirements for Payment of Old Age Insurance Benefits (JHT), and the resignation of Minister of Manpower (Menaker).
To secure the traffic, the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya has prepared several plans.
Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, S.I.K., M.T.C.P., said that traffic security around the location of the assembly was prepared for any situational development.
Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, S.I.K., M.T.C.P., said that his party will continue to monitor the situation of the assembly. For traffic diversion around the Ministry of Manpower Office, located on Jalan Gatot Subroto, the decision will be taken following the situation around the protest.
"The traffic diversion is situational. We will keep monitoring the development of the protest " he said.
To secure traffic flow, Dirlantas will deploy dozens of Traffic Police personnel at the location of the protest which is predicted to be attended by thousands of workers.
“We will deploy around 50 Traffic Police personnel,” he said.
On Tuesday, KSPI President, Ir. H. Said Iqbal, M.E., said that his party would hold a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Manpower Office and the Central BPJS Employment Office.
"We will hold a rally on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 10 a.m.," Said Iqbal said in a virtual press conference, Tuesday.
Not only based in Jakarta, but the KSPI President also stated that the protest will be held throughout Indonesia simultaneously.
"The protest will be held simultaneously throughout Indonesia, namely at the local Manpower Offices in every regencies/cities and province. And also in BPJS branch offices throughout Indonesia," he added.
