Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police, in collaboration with the Confederation of All-Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI), distributed 8,000 food packages to labour in eight provinces. The distribution of basic needs was carried out symbolically at PT. Cahaya Perdana Plastik (Lion Star Group) Kamal Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Friday (29/10/2021).
In his remarks, Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, expressed his gratitude for the appreciation given by KSPSI. According to him, the Indonesian National Police and KSPSI have always worked together in dealing with difficult times during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially regarding the economic situation.
"One of them is how to accelerate vaccination, especially in the working community. And thank God, it has been conveyed at this time almost 100 per cent," said Sigit.
Of course, in line with the acceleration of vaccination, said Sigit, industrial and company activities where fellow labour will resume their activities.
He also admitted that he was happy when he received a report from the company PT Lion Star which during the Covid-19 pandemic did not terminate the employment relationship (PHK) of labour.
"I think if other industry players can follow this, it will certainly create a good atmosphere," said Sigit.
In the future, the former Head former of the Indonesian National Police-Criminal Investigation Agency hopes that the activities loosened will become hope that economic growth will continue to increase.
"We had contracted at minus 5 per cent and thanked God some time ago we were able to grow at 7 per cent, and now maybe we can survive at 4-5 per cent, and hopefully in the next quarter, it can increase again. But, of course, this requires cooperation," said Sigit.
With the reopening of activities, Sigit left a message to the labours to continue to comply with the health protocols (prokes). This is done so that Indonesia can maintain positive steps to suppress the growth rate of Covid-19.
"Thank God, if this can be maintained, Indonesia will be able to jump. Currently, we are ranked 1 in Southeast Asia for controlling Covid-19," said Sigit.
Furthermore, the Chief former of Banten Regional Police said that Indonesia had started to carry out a national event, namely the XX National Sports Week (PON) in Papua, which ran smoothly, safely and there was no increase in Covid-19.
Furthermore, Indonesia will hold an international event, and this requires extra strict Covid-19 control. However, if everything goes smoothly, Sigit calls it an achievement.
"If we look at other countries that are still facing difficult situations in developed countries in Europe, the fluctuating Covid rate is still high. But thank God, Indonesia, with a country with a huge population, we were able to reduce the rate of covid, and for the last few weeks, the positive rate is far below 1. "This means that this is a good step because it is far below the WHO standard. We must maintain this. Let's keep the process so that the industry can run smoothly, and the welfare of labours will increase," said Sigit.
Meanwhile, KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea expressed his gratitude for the attention of the Chief of Indonesian National Police, who has assisted labours, both distribution of basic necessities and vaccinations.
"The Chief of Indonesian National Police expresses his gratitude as the largest labour community in Indonesia with millions of members. Therefore, we salute the attention of the Chief of Indonesian National Police," Andi said on the same occasion.
He also mentioned that the Chief of Indonesian National Police initiated the Precision Vaccination was an extraordinary breakthrough because it was carried out in all regions. This is important so that communal immunity is quickly formed, so production activities run safely and extraordinary.
"So the vaccination is being carried out continuously and now the distribution of basic necessities. We plan to distribute 10 thousand food packages from the Chief of Indonesian National Police throughout Indonesia tomorrow starting in Karawang, Bekasi, Surabaya, South Sumatra, Banjarmasin to Papua," he said.
Finally, he said that KSPSI would remain critical of a policy. However, he said the demonstration was the last step. Because, he said, KSPSI would put forward deliberation and consensus steps to convey aspirations.
On this occasion, the President of KSPSI gave the Chief of Indonesian National Police an award for being a figure who continuously pays attention to labour groups in Indonesia.
