The vaccination this time was held at the Bajo Village office, Tilamuta District, Bolaemo Regency. This vaccination activity was enthusiastically welcomed by the fishermen. A total of 68 fishermen participated in this first phase of the vaccine activity. Wednesday (09/29/21).
The Directorate of Water and Air of Gorontalo Regional Poliice, Pol. Grand Commissioner Saiful Alam, said that unlike the general public, vaccination activities for fishermen were held in the afternoon. The reason is, from night to noon the fishermen carry out activities.
"We adjust it according to the time they have. Yes, in the afternoon we can only vaccinate," said the Gorontalo Regional Police's, Thursday (09/30/21).
"According to Gorontalo Regional Police's Directorate of Water and Air, vaccination for fishermen is Water and Air Division target. In this activity," said Directorate of Water and Air Police, he collaborated with the National Armed Forces and the local government.
He said a number of fishing villages in the Gorontalo Regional Police area were the next targets for vaccination activities. "Vaccination for fishermen is our priority," he added.
In addition to vaccination activities, continued the Director of Water and Air Police of Gorontalo Regional Police, his staff also distributed assistance to people who had been vaccinated in the form of food packages. He said, the assistance of the basic food packages was expected to ease the burden on fishermen affected by Covid-19.
The Acting Regent of Bualemo, Sanas Jusuf, who was present at the event, gave his appreciation to the Water and Air Police staff. He hopes that vaccination for fishermen will continue to be carried out. According to him, only 38 percent of the people in Boalemo Regency who have been vaccinated have received the vaccine.
He hopes that this vaccination activity can increase the number of people who are vaccinated. "There are only 38 percent of the people who have received the vaccine. We are targeting that 75 percent of the Boalemo people have been vaccinated to form herd immunity," he explained.
