Directorate of Drugs Investigation of East Java Regional Police Raided Drugs Village in Surabaya

Directorate of Drugs Investigation of East Java Regional Police raided a slum at the Kunti street, Semampir district, Surabaya, which is suspiciously a drugs village. 450 joint Police personnel from the Mobile Brigade and Samapta Unit of East Java Regional Police were deployed to secure the raid process of this drugs village at the early hours of Thursday (6/10). However, the information was suspiciously leaked because Police's target was managed to flee.

The drugs village is located in a small alley between a dense residential area. In this place, Police found several places used for amphetamine parties.

The Police also found an alarm cable connection that indicated suspicious people so the users and dealers could run away.

"It is suspected that this raid information was leaked, so the village was empty during the raid", Chief of Operations Agency of the Directorate of Drugs Investigation of East Java Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Samsul Makali, who led the raid.

The raid that was conducted from 02.00 to dawn results in nothing.

Police then raided the suspicious people around the drugs village and arrested two people with a positive urine test. After conducting an initial investigation and search, Police managed to arrest two people on the wanted list with different cases.

"During this raid, Police hunting three fugitives of drugs cases but only managed to arrest one. Another one we caught is the fugitive on a motorcycle theft case.

With the arrest of one fugitive of the drugs case, Police are still hunting for another two fugitives of the drugs cases, which suspiciously operate in the drugs village. The large scale operation and education to the community would be continued so that these villages could be freed from drugs.
