inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Deputy Chairman of Commission III Members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR), H. Ahmad Sahroni, S.E., M.I.Kom., supports the policy of expanding the authority of the National Police Propam (Profession and Security Division in Polri).
"I strongly support the proposed expansion of authority, because it is indeed important to improve the quality of the police from the internal side," said The Deputy of Commission III DPRI RI in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday (3/2/3022).
According to the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, it is unfortunate if the National Police Propam is limited on taking action against ethical and disciplinary violations only. If it is extended to criminal acts, then the Propam Polri can have wider authority and of course, will make their utmost performance.
He also stated that the expansion of the Police's Propam authority could also help improve the public trust towards Polri personnel.
According to him, the expanded supervision will certainly make the officers think more about their actions.
"I think this will really help reduce the number of Polri personnel committing criminal acts, resulting the public's trust in the Polri will improve because then, they will have great internal qualities," said Ahmad Sahroni.
