Departing 37 LPDP Scholarship Awardee Police Officers, Chief of Indonesian National Police: Make Provisions for More Advanced Indonesia

Chief of Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, led the farewell ceremony of 37 Police officers awarded the LPDP (Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education) Scholarship at the courtyard of the Indonesian National Police Headquarter's Main Building on Monday (23/8). During the briefing, Sigit emphasises the 37 Police Officers LPDP Awardee to be able to utilise the golden moment and make provisions to build Indonesia and Indonesian National Police. Sigit hoped that knowledge from the top abroad universities could be absorbed well to make Indonesia more advanced and proper. "This golden moment must be utilised as optimal as possible. Make this chance a moment to learn, widen the network, strengthen character, train skills and leadership as the provision on bringing Indonesia to be better and more advanced", Sigit said in his briefing. The former Chief of Banten Regional Police also hoped that the Police officers could implement their knowledge to create a more beloved and hope-fulfilling Bhayangkara corps who could answer the challenge of Indonesian nations, as it is the spirit from the Presisi Police (Predictive, Responsible, Transparent, Just). "(I hope) these 37 Police officers to be able to absorb knowledge as much as possible to build a National Police transmission into Presisi Police", the former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police said. Sigit explained that the development of strategic neighbourhoods abroad would affect the situation in the homeland. According to him, there would be a lot of knowledge that could be absorbed by these 37 Police officers. "Those would be your provision in order to achieve our dreams and future goals to create a world-class standard National Police. I trust these to my juniors to be able to achieve those. Therefore, I hope you conduct all educational activities there so you can really absorb and obtain competencies either in leadership or ethics", Sigit said. By absorbing and learning, Sigit said that when they return to Indonesia, they have a perspective on Police abroad and then on how those things could be implemented into Indonesian National Police. "Besides, the cultural change abroad would be a part you have to master and understand to achieve our Police transformation", Sigit said. On the other side, because they are bringing the name of Indonesia and the Indonesian National Police, Sigit asked the 37 Police officers to maintain Indonesia's dignity and make Indonesia proud on the international stage. "Have a good study. I leave the pride of the Indonesian National Police to you. Be the best students and become the pride of us and Police institutions. Farewell. Get your achievement and return with pride", Sigit said. Besides, Sigit reminded them that the world is still on the Covid-19 pandemic, so the Police officers have to stay disciplined in adhering to Health Protocols and obeying the regulations of their countries of destination. "Therefore, adhere to Health Protocols. Make sure you have vaccinated twice before departure and obey the regulations there", Sigit concluded. As information, 37 Police officers who were awarded the LPDP Scholarship consist of one Police Commissioner, four Police Commissioner Attendant, five Police Inspector 1st Class, and 27 Police Inspector 2nd Class. Out of 37 people, 35 people would go to the master's programme, and two people go to the doctoral programme of the 2019 and 2021 batches of LPDP to continue their study at many top universities abroad.
