Creating Herd Immunity, Yogyakarta Police Holds Independent Precision Vaccination for 1,500 Persons with Disabilities and the General Public

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Yogyakarta. Accelerating the handling of covid-19 and creating immunity from Covid-19, the Yogyakarta Police carried out the first stage of Precision Merdeka vaccination, which prioritized 1,500 people with disabilities in Yogyakarta and the general public.

In the review of the Yogayakarta Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector General Asep Suhendar, at the Merdeka Presisi Vaccine outlet in the Sleman shopping center, the Head of Yogyakarta Regional Police said he was proud of the enthusiasm of the people of Yogyakarta and surrounding areas who were very enthusiastic to participate in the covid-19 vaccination, Thursday (08/5/21).

The two-star general said that with the enthusiasm of the community to be vaccinated, there was hope for the realization of herd immunity in the Yogyakarta region.

"With the realization of herd immunity in our area, the hope that we want to achieve can be realized, namely life will return to normal, the economy will improve again," explained the Yogyakarta Regional Police Chief.

On the same occasion, the Yogyakarta Police Chief invited all levels of society to flock to the vaccine while still paying attention to health protocols so that herd immunity is truly achieved.

"This time we are collaborating with our brothers and sisters with disabilities for vaccines, they are very vulnerable to the Covid-19 virus, we will help facilitate it," explained the Yogyakarta Regional Police Chief.

In the same place, the Chairperson of the DPC Association of Indonesian Persons with Disabilities (PPDI) of Sleman Regency, Sukamto, conveyed his gratitude to the police for facilitating vaccine activities for people with disabilities.

He admitted that it was very helpful because people with disabilities were very vulnerable to the Covid-19 virus.

"Hopefully, with the vaccine, our colleagues (disabled people) will have good immunity, especially during this pandemic," explained the Branch Leadership Council Chair of the Indonesian Association of Persons with Disabilities.
