Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Palembang. To realize herd immunity from Covid-19 transmission, the South Sumatra Regional Police held a mass Covid-19 vaccination injection service.
"The mass vaccination activities carried out by the Regional Police in the last few months will be further encouraged so that group immunity can immediately be created and the COVID-19 pandemic can be ended," explained the South Sumatra Regional Police Chief, Pol. Inspector General Toni Harmanto, Monday (09/06/21).
The South Sumatra Regional Police Chief explained that in order to make the vaccination program a success, his party invited people in seventeen regencies and cities to participate in vaccination services held by regional units or at the Resort Police level.
"This activity is one way to succeed in the national COVID-19 vaccination program of one million doses per day," explained the South Sumatra Regional Police Chief.
To invite the public to participate in the mass vaccination activity, the Medical and Health team of the South Sumatra Regional Police and the Resort Police attempted to disseminate information using various mass media channels, including social media in local languages.
The government's recommendations for vaccines must be followed in order to keep the community safe from transmission of the corona virus and to form group immunity against Covid-19.
To succeed in mass vaccination activities and prevent clusters of COVID-19 transmission, the public is reminded to always comply with health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining distance.
"Through these efforts, it is hoped that the implementation of vaccination in this province, which has started since mid-January 2021, will be without significant obstacles so that it can be completed according to the schedule and targets set by the regional and central governments," said the former West Sumatra Regional Police Chief.
