inp.polri.go.id - Banten. Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar) received 300 reports regarding illicit online lending based in Sleman, Yogyakarta (DIY). However, only 93 were considered a victim.
The Head of Public Relations (Kabid Humas) Polda Jabar, Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo said there are 93 victims of illegal online lending in DIY. They suffered losses and various treatments because of that loan shark practice.
“Ilegal online lending already caused many victims. We have received 300 reports. After we verified it, we confirmed there are 93 victims,” explained Kabid Humas Polda Kalbar from their Headquarters.
Commissioner Tompo said that this illicit online lending spread their offering message, through messages, to the phone number of their victims. When their victim opens the message, they are automatically listed as their customer.
They promised proper tenor and due, but in truth, even before due, they have been billed to pay debts that they do not really want.
If they did not pay immediately, the debt could multiply much higher, even twice times than the initial debt. The perpetrators then terrorized the victim with verbal abuse and spread slander to the family and friends of the victim.
The authority has delivered the case to the High Prosecutor West Java. The case regarding illegal online lending based in Sleman, DIY, with eight victims, has been finished documented.
