Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Commander of the Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, attended the vaccination and social service event held by the Class of 1990 of the Indonesian Armed Forces (Akabri 1990) in Jaga Nusantara 1 (JN1) Building of Kelapa Dua, South Tangerang, on Tuesday (26/10/2021). During the visit, Sigit appreciated the Akabri 1990 who has participated in vaccination acceleration efforts. “Today, we indeed appreciate Akabri 1990 who has conducted vaccination acceleration which has been the Mr President’s target to achieve 70% Indonesians to be vaccinated by the year’s end”, Sigit said. According to Sigit, vaccination acceleration was conducted by Akabri 1990 through mass and door to door vaccination to reach communities such as elders. This is the part of Armed Forces-Police concrete contribution. “This is indeed the part of Armed Forces-Police contribution with the related stakeholders to accelerate vaccination as hoped by Mr President”, Sigit said. On the other side, Sigit also asked all Armed Forces-Police personnel and stakeholders to be aware of the Covid-19 growth during Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 (Nataru) Holidays. According to Sigit, the anticipation must be prepared to avoid the possibility of the Covid-19 case surge in Indonesia after the holidays. “During this occasion, because we are facing Nataru Holidays, we know that with the recent Covid-19 cases, then public activities are relaxing because there have been downgrades of Community Activity Restrictions Enforcement (PPKM) levels. However, I reminded us that we cannot be neglectful and must be aware”, Sigit said. The former Chief of Banten Regional Police reminded that despite the Indonesian Covid-19 numbers has been under control; it doesn’t mean the Coronavirus pandemic handling and controlling become not optimal again for the future. Sigit stated that discipline in Health Protocols enforcement must be conducted despite the dwindling case number. Moreover, when approaching long holidays. “The key is how to enforce strict Health Protocols in the middle of activity relaxation. This effort requires discipline and awareness for all people to enforce Health Protocols because some regions saw the relaxation of masks wearing”, the former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police said. If there are no awareness and cautious actions, Sigit said, there would be a potential of increasing Covid-19 number, mainly when approaching Nataru holidays, considering the high public mobility. “If we are not cautious, during the high mobility of Nataru holidays, Covid-19 cases could surge. Moreover, our neighbours are still having their Covid-19 numbers fluctuated”, Sigit said. On the vaccination event held by Akabri 1990 across 18 provinces, 162,417 Sinovac vaccine doses have been administered and used the vaccine stock of the Indonesian Ministry of Health and Armed Forces-Police. The vaccination targets students, college students, the general public, and elders. During this occasion, there was also the distribution of social aid in the form of 50,760 basic necessities packages to people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and aid to the 1,245 family members or the public servants and Armed Forces-Police personnel who died due to Covid-19.
