Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police: We Have to Prepare Concrete Measures to Avoid Christmas and New Year Covid Cluster

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Mataram. Chief of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police, Police Inspector General Muhammad Iqbal, wants the provincial government to immediately prepare concrete measures in preventing the new Covid-19 cluster during Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 celebrations.

"We have to prepare concrete measures to follow up Minister of Home Affairs Instruction No. 62 of 2011", Chief of NTB Regional Police said in Mataram on Wednesday (1/12/21).

Chief of NTB Regional Police said that he had addressed it through a virtual event with all regional officials and stakeholders in NTB responsible for the Covid-19 transmission preventions effort.

According to the Chief of NTB Regional Police, these concrete measures must be implemented in a regulation that could encompass all situations and necessities of every regency and city.

However, he reminded the regulation product to strengthen the Home Affairs Minister Instruction No. 62 of 2021 on Covid-19 Prevention and Mitigation during Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 Celebrations.

The Health Protocols enforcement in preventing Covid-19 transmission must be the priority. Tourist attractions, leisure centres, and places potentially trigger the crowd to become the attention.

The regulation would also regulate supervision on every entrance corridor of the NTB region. Chief of NTB Regional Police said that there must be special strategy enforcement.

"In essence, we don't want this existing situation turned into a new cluster. We will push optimally to avoid the Christmas and New Year cluster", Chief of NTB Regional Police said.
