Chief of South Sumatra Regional Police, Police Inspector General Eko Indra Heri, accompanied by Deputy Chief of South Sumatra Regional Police, Police Brigadier General Rudi Setiawan, symbolically received aids from the Masyarakat Tionghoa Palembang Bersatu (United Chinese-Indonesians Community of Palembang), distribution social aids to seventeen regional units, and the aids to the health workers at the Rally Court of South Sumatra Regional Police Headquarter on Monday (16/8/2021).
Police Inspector General Eko said that this received aid would be distributed to South Sumatra people affected by Covid-19.
"Thank God, today we received extraordinary aids to help South Sumatrans affected by Covid-19", Chief of Regional Police said.
The two-star general explained that the aids would be beneficial. He hopes that people keep implementing Health Protocols with discipline such as washing their hands, keeping distance, wearing face masks, and praying that Covid-19 could be eradicated.
"We are really grateful for the help that is essential on our province that is affected by Covid-19. Let's spare our money to help our people affected by the Covid-19", Chief of South Sumatra Regional Police said.
Chief of Regional Police said that the aid given by Masyarakat Tionghoa Palembang Bersatu is worth Rp400 million, consisting of 100 medical oxygen tanks, 100 regulator units. Regional Police also distributed social aids comprised of 170 tons of rice and 1,700 instant noodle boxes for seventeen regional units and gave aids to the health workers.
"We ensure that this is not our first and last. Police with the Armed Forces and Regional Government would keep distributing to the regencies and cities in South Sumatra", Chief of Regional Police concluded.
