Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police Distributed Social Assistance for Health Workers and Papuan People in Makassar City

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Makassar. Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Inspector General Pol. Merdisyam handed over 1,000 packages of social assistance to Papuan Health Workers and Papuan People who live in Makassar, Friday (07/30/21).

The activity was carried out on the 3rd floor of Bhayangkara Hospital, Andi Mappaoudang Street, Makassar City.

The activity themed “Indonesia National Police Cares about Vaccination and Providing Social Assistance", was held to celebrate 30 years or three decades of service from the 1991 Police Academy alumni.

Head of National Narcotic Agency of South Sulawesi Province, Police Brigadier General Ghiri Prawijaya, and High Rank Officers of South Sulawesi Regional Police, were also attended the activity.

Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police said health workers should be given the highest appreciation for their struggles during Covid-19 pandemic. The sacrifices of health workers are not only material but also time, energy, and even lives.

"We pray health workers who have preceded us will get the best place by God," the Two Star General said.

Police Inspector General Merdisyam said in handling Covid 19 in South Sulawesi, South Sulawesi Regional Police received high appreciation from community. This was because of their seriousness in helping the government to prevent Covid-19 spread.

“We should also be proud that Bhayangkara Makassar Hospital is community's favorite hospital because of the improvement in quality, service and readiness of existing doctors," the former Chief of Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police said.

On this occasion, Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police also advised Papuans living in Makassar that in the midst of difficult situation due to Covid 19 Pandemic, that they should never give up.

"We are always here as parents and will help one another, because you are part of us all," the 1991 Indonesia Armed Forces graduate said.
