Chief of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesian National Police: Community Police Unit, the Frontline of Covid-19 Pandemic Handling

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Semarang. Chief of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesian National Police, Police General Commissioner Arief Sulistyanto, instructed the Community Development Police of Central Java Regional Police at UTC of Semarang on Thursday (11/11/21).

The instruction is in the context of the preparation of Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 and attended by Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, Deputy Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Brigadier General Abiyoso Seno Aji, and Primary Officials of Central Java Regional Police.

Police General Commissioner Arief Sulistyanto said that Community Police Unit is the frontline in handling the Covid-19 pandemic. He assures the personnel that the tasks are noble and multifunctional.

"Have to do it sincerely because they (Community Police Unit) are the closest to the people", the three-star general said.

Chief of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesian National Police said that 3,000 personnel of the Community Police Unit is not enough to cover all villages in Central Java, and he will deliver it to the HR Department of National Police for personnel additions.

"Related to budget, I have proposed budget increase for contact facilities and incentives for the Community Police Unit. By working hard, they would get the proper incentives to enhance their prosperity", the 1987 graduate of the Armed Forces Academy said.

In approaching Christmas and New Year, the Former Chief of Education and Training Board of Indonesian National Police also asked people to calm down and enforce Health Protocols.

"The pandemic is still ongoing. Do not let yourself lose control which could lead to July cases surge", the Police General Commissioner Arief Sulistyanto said.

Chief of Security Maintenance Agency of Indonesian National Police said that Christmas and New Year celebrations must be adhered to Health Protocols to avoid Covid-19 cases surged several months ago.
