Chief of Riau Regional Police: Collaboration and Synergy as the Key on Covid-19 Handling

Chief of Riau Regional Police, Police Inspector General Agung Setya Imam Effendi, inspected Covid-19 handling by visiting PPKM (Community Activity Restriction Enforcement) command post in Tangkerang Timur subdistrict, Tenayan Raya district, on Saturday (31/7/21).

During the inspection, the Chief of Regional Police was accompanied by Police Brigadier General Tabana Bangun and several Primary Officials of Riau Regional Police and Pekanbaru City Departmental Police, and officials of Pekanbaru City Government.

At the PPKM command post, the Chief of Regional Police conducting a Zoom meeting with the Community Police Unit, who reports the evacuation process conducted by officers to the resident exposed by Covid-19.

He also gave social aid to the people and inspecting vaccination events held in the subdistrict head's office.

During the occasion, Chief of Regional Police said that measures conducted by the PPKM command post, in accordance with Minister of Home Affairs' instructions, must be formed and managed properly for Covid-19 handling, in which the smallest region units, Neighbourhood and Citizen Association, have been integrated in terms of handling, which means collaborating all elements such as government, Armed Forces-Police, medical workers, et cetera. "In essence, we have reached the Covid-19 handling until the smallest region unit with the expectation that Covid-19 could be well-identified, starting to transmission until its treatment, we have anticipated those, which these are our strength, as we know what the differences between our strength and the ones in the developed countries", Chief of Regional Police said.

According to the number one person in the Riau Regional Police, the virus is invisible, so the handling is more challenging. Therefore, a common effort to help each other becomes the key point in handling Covid-19.

Pekanbaru is now at the Level 4, which is the highest Covid-19 vulnerability level, Chief of Regional Police encourages all parties not to stand still. They have to start and rise to create a better Pekanbaru city.
