After the flash flood in the city of Batu, the Chief of the East Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Nico Afinta Karo-Karo, and Regional Leadership Communication Forum checked the post and the flash flood natural disaster location in the Batu Tourism City area, Friday (11/05/2021).
Appearing to be present accompanying the Chief of East Java Regional Police in the activity were the East Java High Rank Executives including the Head of Public Relations Division, Police Grand Commissioner Repli Handoko, the Regional Secretary of the Province of East Java and Chief of Staff of the Regional Military Command V Brawiijaya as well as the Mayor of Batu, elements of the Provincial Government, City Government, and Indonesian National Armed Forces-Indonesian National Police personnel.
The Chief of East Java Regional Police said that the flash flood hit Sumberbrantas Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City, East Java, on Thursday (4/11/2021). The flood accompanied by mud, stone materials, wood and so on hit people's houses and swept away ten victims, and nine people were found dead. One person is still being searched.
"Currently, the first is the recovery task force. The second is the victim identification task force. The third is the logistics task force. The fourth is the communication task force. The fifth is the data collection task force. Next, the team will work together and work together. The first step is recovery by cleaning up, the second of the several victims that have been found, only one person has not yet, the third we ask the community, especially later if it rains again, to be very careful about the waterway that will fall, so that we will inform the community along the river route, which is suspected to be the flow of water to evacuate first because the safety of life is more important," added the Chief of East Java Regional Police.
"Of course, I will carry out an analysis and evaluation related to the task force that has been formed so that hopefully it can recover. We relocated first, then searched for victims who had already met the needs and provided health services and logistics. We will try to make teams handle the flash flood disaster. The most important thing is to help the community if they are later asked to evacuate. Please follow them first because they are afraid that there will be aftershocks and further landslides will occur," concluded the Chief of East Java Regional Police.
