Chief of PR and Press of East Kalimantan Regional Police: Do Not Believe Online Loans Easily

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Balikpapan. Chief of PR and Press of East Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, asked East Kalimantan people not to be tempted with the quick process of lending offered by online loans and keep considering its risk.

Because if they use illegal online loans, people would be harmed.

"I hope people not too easily believe the offer on online lending service in the social media", Chief of PR and Press of East Kalimantan Regional Police advised on Friday (15/20/2021).

Chief of PR reminds that illegal online loans harmed people due to the private data that would be utilised by the perpetrators if somebody pay later or could not pay the debt.

"The illegal online loans platform really harmed the people, so we required special handling measures", the Chief of PR said.

Therefore, East Kalimantan Regional Police asked people to eradicate them together using campaign, surveillance, and law enforcement. There must be handling measures to provide protection to the public.

"We asked people to be more cautious and more careful with the online lottery scam in the community", the Chief of PR added.

To avoid you become the next victim, here are four modes of online gathering:

1. The lure of high profit
The fake gathering perpetrators often lure people with high profits and return without any risk.

2. Using the Ponzi scheme
A Ponzi scheme is a fake investment modus that pays the profit to the investors from their own money or the money paid by the next investors, not from the profit achieved by the individual or the organisation running this operation.

3. Unclear legal entity
In several cases, these fake gatherings have no official board even though it maintains hundreds of millions to billions of rupiah. Indonesian Financial Service Authority stated that legal entities are a limited company, CV, firms, foundation, et cetera.

4. Lavish promotions
To attract the participants of the fake gathering, they use lavish promotions such as money in the form of motorcycles and cars so that the prospective victims are not hesitant to join because of its high profit.
