Tribratanews.polri.go.id - JAKARTA. Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, strategised acceleration of mass vaccination as the present for Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, 2021. In which on that day, he targets 70% of Indonesian to be vaccinated.
Related to that target, Sigit said that he instructed all Chiefs of Regional Police to accelerate vaccination to achieve the target at Independence Day.
"We have conducted a video conference with all Chiefs of Regional Police and, on August 17, God willing, we, assisted by our partners from regional governments, Armed Forces, and all volunteers, could reach 70% target for the vaccination", Sigit said at Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police on Sunday (1/8/2021).
According to Sigit, to reach the 70% target, proper organising and strategising is needed, such as the Vaksinasi Merdeka programme.
"We need excellent organising and strategy formulating. After the briefing, we are clear that this target could be achieved", Sigit said.
Besides the mass vaccination movement, Sigit emphasised that in accelerating herd immunity towards Coronavirus, Police also have opened vaccination booths.
As information, the Vaksinasi Merdeka movement in Jakarta would be conducted in 668 vaccination booths spread across 900 Neighbourhood Association in Jakarta, involving 4,500 volunteers consist of 1,800 medical workers, screening doctors, and vaccinator. The other 2,700 would be as the non-medical workers, observators, and administration input.
Each volunteer would receive transport reimbursement by Gojek application and incentives. The target would be 200 people per Neighbourhood Association per day started from August 1, so 3,060,000 people would be inoculated by Independence Day on August 17.
