Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta.Commander of the Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, led the meeting on Covid-19 handling and controlling with the Regional Leaders Communication Forum of Bantul and Sleman of Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) on Sunday (8/8/2021).
In his instruction, Sigit said that DIY experiences 11.81% economic growth during the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, national economic growth is recorded at 7.07%.
However, Sigit emphasised that to keep the economic growth momentum, it must be followed by Covid-19 control strategy implementations.
"DIY's economy has grown 11.81%. This economic growth momentum must be maintained by considering Health as the basic capital. If Covid-19 cases could be suppressed, the economy could normally run again. Therefore, strategies on Covid-19 control must be implemented and have to take into account the balancing acts", Sigit said to the Regional Leaders Communication Forum of DIY.
Sigit explained that the Covid-19 control strategies are the discipline on implementing Health Protocols (washing hands, wearing masks, keeping distance) by all walks of life. The second is strengthening 3T (testing, tracing, treatment). The last one is to accelerate vaccination efforts.
"Those things show our optimism that Indonesia is resilient and ready to face the Covid-19 pandemic and do the economic leap. This economic growth momentum must be maintained with Health as the basic capital. If Covid-19 cases could be suppressed, the economy could normally run again", the former Chief of Banten Regional Police said.
According to Sigit, these efforts are in accordance with the instructions of Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, who wants to accelerate vaccination, mainly on regions of mobility and economic centres, massive Health Protocols implementation on all walks of life, massively conduct 3T, maintaining bed occupancy rate, increasing capacities of centralised isolation facilities, and ensuring the supply of medicine and oxygen.
The former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of the National Police also appealed Provincial Government, Regional Government, Armed Forces, Police, and other related institutions to be in synergy with the people to implement tight and discipline Health Protocols, mainly in the public economic centres.
Meanwhile, Sigit asked that, in the middle of Level 1-4 PPKM (Community Activity Restriction Enforcement) implementation, the four-pillar synergy also must strengthen its roles in Micro-scaled PPKM such as optimising Health Protocols and 3T and distributing social aid to the people quickly and on target.
On another side, Sigit also put the light on bed occupancy rate in DIY, which placed third on the national level (74%) from data issued by the Ministry of Health on August 6, 2021.
According to Sigit, in anticipating the bed capacity fill-up, Regional Leaders Communication Forum must increase hospital bed conversion from 40 to 60 per cent. The next thing is on adding more beds at the centralised isolation facilities by utilising Training Building, Sports Halls, and schools.
"Cases discoveries must be conducted earlier so the therapy could begin from the early start. The utilisation of centralised isolation facilities in district and regency/city level must be conducted so that patients with mild symptoms could be treated, observed, and referred as soon as possible if their condition worsens", Sigit said.
Implementation of self-isolation also must enforce several protocols such as putting self-isolation signs and attach phone numbers of Community Police officers, Community Armed Forces officers, and health workers.
Afterwards, the householders cannot mobilise outside, and the officers must conduct intensive patrol, creating a special WhatsApp group for the Covid positive residents to ease communication with the officers and spraying disinfectant at the house regularly.
"We have to distribute basic needs and medicines to Covid positive houses, and conducting special treatment and check their health routinely to accelerate recovery", Sigit said.
Besides, Sigit said, acceleration on social aid and medicines distribution is also a priority to help alleviate the burdens of the people in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Not only that, Sigit said that vaccination acceleration also must be conducted in synergy together with all walks of life to achieve herd immunity towards Coronavirus.
"National Police has held 604 mass vaccination events and 2,916 social aid activities with all walks of life. In cumulative, National Police has involved 332 community organisation, distributed 163,466 basic necessities packages and 749,171 kilograms of rice, and targeted 371,941 vaccination with community elements", Sigit said.
