Chief of NTB Regional Police Accompanied Social Affairs Minister to Visit Flood in West Lombok

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – West Lombok. Chief of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police, Police Inspector General Muhammad Iqbal, accompanied Social Affairs Minister, Tri Rismaharini, to visit people affected by flood in West Lombok regency, NTB, on Friday (10/12/2021).

Social Affairs Minister was also accompanied by Deputy Governor of NTB, Sitti Rohmi Djalilah; Commander of 162/WB Military Region, Armed Forces Brigadier General Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani; Chief of Central Lombok Departmental Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Wirasto Adi Nugroho; Regent of West Lombok, Fauzan Khalid; and other governmental apparatuses.

Chief of NTB Regional Police said that the visit of the Social Affairs Minister is to visit flood victims at the North Batulayar hamlet of West Lombok regency because five people died there due to the flash flood.

Besides, Social Affairs Minister stated that, based on observation at the refuge centre, the location is not perfectly safe. The hills are starting to slide. She advised them to look for a safer place and build more tents.

"The location is indeed far from residential area compared to the recent refuge centre. But it is not safe enough. This means that people here at night or during rain must stay at the refuge centre. We will prepare the refuge facility in accordance with WHO standards", the Social Affairs Minister concluded.
