Panca Putra Simanjuntak advised to the Regional Government, Indonesia National Armed Forces, Indonesia National Police, and related agencies to provide education and socialization of Covid-19 vaccination activities to the public so that they the target can be achieved, especially for the senior with higher risk of transmission.
This was conveyed by Inspector General of Police. RZ. Panca Putra during his visit to review the implementation of the mass vaccination which took place at the Shooting Field of the Asahan Police Headquarters, Thursday (06/10).
During his monitoring visit, the Chief of North Sumatra Regional Police expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the teachers and the seniors who had willingness to take part in this mass Covid-19 vaccination. He said, this vaccination activity aims to speed up the process of administering vaccines to all North Sumatran people, especially people in Asahan Regency.
Then the Chief of North Sumatra Regional Police advised the Regional Government, Indonesia National Armed Forces, Indonesia National Police, and related agencies to continue to urge the public to always wear masks in carrying out daily activities even though they have been vaccinated. Because it does not mean people who have been vaccinated are free from Covid-19.
On that occasion, Asahan Deputy Regent Taufik Zainal Abidin said the vaccination was carried out in order to anticipate and suppress the transmission of Covid-19 in Asahan Regency. Giving vaccines to the senior group is expected to help protect others who have not received the vaccine, namely preventing infection and transmission. Because the elderly is one of the vulnerable groups who are prioritized to get the Covid-19 vaccine.
The Deputy Regent also explained this mass vaccination was a direct direction from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo in order to accelerate the formation of mass immunity for all Indonesian people.
In accordance with the President's instructions, it is hoped that the implementation of vaccinations for all Indonesian people can be completed before the end of 2021 through cooperation from all elements starting from the Central Government, Provincial Government, Regional Government, Indonesian National Police, Indonesia National Armed Forces, and Attorney General's Office at all levels, concluded Taufik Zainal Abidin while also mentioning that the number of people in Asahan who have been vaccinated has reached 22 thousand people.
