Commander of the Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, inspected the security preparation in approaching the opening ceremony of 20th National Sports Week (PON XX) in Lukas Enembe Stadium, Papua. Commander and Police Chief inspected the event to ensure the safe, peaceful, and smooth opening events, main events, and closing ceremony.
"So we just conduct rehearsal and security preparation for the venue or the opening ceremony conducted by Mr President, and also the closing ceremony", Chief of Indonesian National Police said.
Through a direct visit, the Chief of Indonesian National Police ensures that the security conducted by Armed Forces-Police run well because the personnel are guarding the determined places to ensure the safety of the domestic sports event.
"We are indeed hoped that the presence of security personnel from the inner 1st ring to the outer 4th ring could contribute to a safe, smooth, and proper PON events security", Chief of Indonesian National Police said.
Besides the security on security and order disturbance, the Chief of Police also reminded the importance of staying healthy for the public, such as vaccination acceleration and implementation of Health Protocols during PON, considering that in order to watch the event directly, people must have been vaccinated.
"Then our advice on the event conducted with 25% maximum capacity for the spectators who have been vaccinated twice. The Commander and we have opened vaccination outlets in four host regions, and we hoped that this could be responded to well so people, besides vaccinated, could watch the match because that is a requirement. We hope to conduct it well", the former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police said.
Therefore, the Chief of Indonesian National Police encourages people to go to vaccination outlets established by Armed Forces-Police. Thus, the PON XX commencement could go on and be safe from security and order disturbance and avoiding the Covid-19 rise.
"We encourage people to go to the vaccination outlets of Armed Forces-Police and the Local Health Agency to get the best service for the Papuans. Another Task Force operation is instructed to maintain the security so PON could run well", Chief of Indonesian National Police concluded.
