Tribratanews.polri.go.id - JAKARTA. Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Chief of Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, led the briefing meeting for Covid-19 control and handling with the Regional Leaders Communication Forum (Forkopimda) of Klaten, Central Java, on Saturday (21/8/2021).
During the occasion, Sigit stated that the government often evaluates PPKM (Community Activity Restrictions Enforcement) implementation every week by scoring which regions could be relaxed in their level and which regions have to maintain their PPKM level.
"However, these relaxation policies bear the consequence of increasing Covid-19 positive cases. Therefore, the enforcement of Health Protocols becomes the key", Sigit said in the briefing.
Therefore, the former Chief of Banten Regional Police asked the public to implement strict Health Protocols to suppress Covid-19 transmission risks.
"Through this relaxation, the government hopes that people whose economic sector affected by the restriction could rerun their economic activities. However, please maintain the Health Protocols implementation", Sigit said.
Related to pandemic handling in the Klaten region, Sigit stated that he instructed the personnel to work extra hard to combat Covid-19 there.
"Specific for Klaten, I have addressed all Police personnel of Central Java Regional Police to observe, educate, and enforce the strict Health Protocols implementation. We asked the people to wear their masks, follow the restriction regulations, et cetera. Those things are important to push down Covid-19 growth so it could be controlled", Sigit said.
He said that tracing and testing activities become important in Covid-19 countermeasures in Klaten.
"Tracing and testing for the Covid-19-exposed are important in Covid-19 countermeasures. However, public awareness is needed by self-reporting if they have direct contact with Covid patients. It is essential for tracing purposes", the former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency said.
Because, Sigit continues, even though the Covid-19 Task Force would obtain the data from laboratories and they would conduct tracing, public awareness activities in the form of self-reporting to Public Health Centres could alleviate Task Force's burden.
"So that the joint tracing activities conducted by Task Force personnel could run optimally. These tracing and testing results could be analysed further, whether the person needs to be put in self-isolation, centralised isolation facilities, or even a hospital. Public awareness is important. We hope that we can control Covid-19 growth better", he stated.
Meanwhile, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, said cooperation is needed to suppress the Coronavirus transmission rate.
"Related to the high Covid-19 transmission in Klaten regency, there have to be common measures conducted together to suppress Covid-19 cases in this region. The daily new cases are still above 150, and this region is still on Level 4 (PPKM)", Hadi said.
According to him, one of the measures to suppress high daily cases in Klaten is through tracing and testing.
"We would conduct massive tracing and testing, and then the results would be segregated on who has to be self-isolating and the ones who have to be put in centralised isolation facilities. By conducting proper tracing and testing, Covid cases could decrease", Hadi said.
Then, the second step, the Commander continued, is using the entry and exit test standards, so if that could run well, the transmission rate would fall. "Right now, all self-isolating and centralised isolation facilities have been prepared", Hadi concluded.
