JAKARTA - Commander of the Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, and Chief of Indonesian National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, inspected vaccination, social service, and the launching event of 100% Communal Immunity Villages held by the Class of 1999 of the Armed Forces Academy in Satya Haprabu Building of Indonesian National Police Mobile Brigade Corps in Depok on Wednesday (20/10/21).

Sigit addressed an appreciation to the 1999 Armed Forces Alumni who held the vaccination acceleration event to materialise herd immunity against Covid-19. According to Sigit, synergy and solidity of Armed Forces-Police is the key to realise it.

"Everything could run well if solidity and synergy could be constructed and fostered. I thanked the Class of 1999 of Armed Forces Academy, who have shown their cohesiveness to contribute. This is a good tradition that has to be passed on", Sigit said during the inspection.

The former Chief of Banten Regional Police explained that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had instructed Armed Forces-Police and other community elements to keep helping the government in vaccination. The cooperative hard work, according to Sigit, is to realise the 70% population vaccinated by administering two million doses per day.

"As we know that the government, in this context Mr President, keep pushing everyone, especially Armed Forces-Police to help form cooperation with the stakeholders to realise vaccination with the target of two million vaccination per day", the former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police said

Sigit also delivered his appreciation to all personnel of Armed Forces, Police, volunteers, Regional Government, health workers, and other public elements in order to achievement of two million doses per day. Despite that, he asked them to keep optimally working in conducting vaccination acceleration.

"The achievement target of two million vaccination per day has been achieved four times. On October 14, we achieved 2,250,000 doses administered, so this is our success. We have to continue these achievements to realise the Mr President target of 70 per cent population vaccinated", Sigit said.

Sigit said that, with the said progress, Indonesia is now the first in Southeast Asia in controlling Coronavirus growth.

Furthermore, Sigit said that, with the Covid-19 control, Indonesia was able to hold national events such as 20th National Sports Week (PON XX) in Papua some time ago. Therefore, according to Sigit, Indonesian would also face international agendas planned to hold in this country.

"We have started to conduct national scale event some time ago in Papua. In November, there will be the international event of Superbike. Afterwards, there would be another international-scale event of the G20 in Bali. All of those events would be able to be held if the Covid-19 growth could be handled and controlled well", Sigit said.

Therefore, Sigit hoped that vaccination acceleration would be keep being conducted optimally in the future because vaccination is one of the keys to support every event in Indonesia.

Besides vaccination, according to Sigit, the Coronavirus spread could be prevented through the enforcement of strict Health Protocols, moreover when the government downgraded assessment levels in several regions in Indonesia.

By the level downgrade, Sigit explained that it would align with the public activity relaxation in economic centres and offline learning. If those things are not being enforced with strict Health Protocols, then the chance of Covid-19 spread would be increasing.

"The key is on how the vaccination acceleration could be conducted in the year's end for achieving the target, and how to make the public to observe Health Protocols so that when there was relaxation when the level being downgraded and public activities started to be relaxed, the transmission rate could be controlled. We would maintain the strict enforcement of Health Protocols", Sigit said.

As information, the activity of Class of 1999 of the Armed Forces Academy Care is held simultaneously in 34 provinces across Indonesia from October 6 to 20, 2021, with some agendas such as vaccination, social service, and the launching of 100% Communal Immune Villages.

This event also launched the 100% Communal Immune Villages and Raudatussibiyan Presisi Madrasah and also the handover of two cars to the teachers of Raudatussibiyan Presisi Madrasah.
