Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency, Pol. General Commissioner Agus Andrianto asked for the role of the community to report if the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) swab test service provider set a price exceeding the new price set by the Government.

The police will supervise the implementation of the policy regarding the price of the new PCR test, starting from the National Police Headquarter to the regions.

We really hope for community participation to inform if there are PCR service providers setting rates above those set by the government. We and our staff are the hands of the state to carry out security and supervision in its implementation, he explained.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency also asked providers of PCR swab tests to comply with and implement the government's policy.
Of course, the awareness of the health ecosystem specifically for PCR will immediately adapt "by complying with and implementing the highest tariff decision by the government," added Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency.

Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked for the price of PCR tests to be lowered. The Ministry of Health then lowered the price of the PCR test to IDR 495,000 for areas in Java-Bali, and IDR 525,000 for areas outside Java-Bali starting August 17, 2021.

Jokowi also requested that the results of the PCR test come out within 1x24 hours. So far, many laboratories in the region have only issued PCR test results within 3 to 7 days after sampling. The price decline occurred after many criticized the price of PCR tests in Indonesia as being more expensive than other countries, such as India. The price of the PCR test set by the government previously reached IDR 900 thousand.
