Chief of Bojonegoro Departmental Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant EG Pandia, with the admins of social media accounts, held Cangkrukan Kamtibmas (Community Security and Order Talk) in Pujasera Astuti Room of Bojonegoro Departmental Police, Bojonegoro regency, on Thursday (28/10/2021).
In his opening statement, the Chief of Bojonegoro Departmental Police encouraged the social media admins to maintain and manage security and order in Bojonegoro through their social media postings to create a safe, peaceful, and conducive security and order situation in Bojonegoro regency.
"I asked the social media admins to be careful towards postings, news, or information that has no credibility or of uncertain origin. Do not spread hoax and news containing enmity and division", Chief of Departmental Police said.
He added that the technological advancements emphasise the cyber world development that also affects the dynamics of public security and order. The arrival of social media cannot be ignored. The world looks like it has no distance, time, and space. Other events on another side of the world could be known soon.
What happens in the online world also affects the world, and vice versa, the opinion built in the real world could also affect humans through the online world. Social media could bring a good and bad side, and the wrong side is the spread of hoax, hate speech, and bringing ethnicity, race, religion, and groups, and also cybercrime such as fraud, gambling, and pornography.
"We hope the social media admins to be in synergy with the Police, especially Bojonegoro Departmental Police, in keeping Bojonegoro conducive. Besides, the admins could be the Police of the online world to keep the social media away from the negative things that could be brought into the online world", Chief of Departmental Police said.
At the end of the event, the Chief of Bojonegoro Departmental Police emphasises the social media admins to keep posting positive, humane, great and educating posts. Make social media the platform to grow public awareness on the importance of "filter it before sharing it". Police thanked the netizen who have made the positive activities of Bojonegoro Departmental Police viral.
