Chief of Banten Regional Police, Police Inspector General Rudy Heriyanto Adi Nugroho, appreciated the Arrest Operation (OTT) conducted by the investigators of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate at the State Land Authority (BPN) office on Friday (12/11).
Besides, the Chief of Banten Regional Police also motivates investigators not to hesitate to react to the information on extortion and other corruption offences because it has unsettled the public.
"I instruct the investigation personnel not to be hesitant in conducting firm actions towards extortion and other corruption offences because it has unsettled the public. Use the OTT to give preventive effects and harsh warnings to public servants", Chief of Regional Police said.
In the future, Banten Regional Police will evaluate the OTT results. "If it is needed, then I will not hesitate to instruct the personnel to conduct OTT to other corruption cases. We are really serious in handling corruption offences in Banten", Chief of Regional Police added.
As previously known, Banten Regional Police conducted OTT towards four personnel of BPN of Lebak and one subdistrict head in Lebak regency on Friday (12/11). The investigators seized three envelopes containing Rp36 million in cash, which is the part of money asked by the BPN staff for land certificate administration. Two suspects of the BPN office staff have been detained since Saturday (13/11).4
