Chief of Bali Regional Police and Commander of 9th/Udayana Military Region Encourages Self-Isolating People to Move to Isoter

Chief of Bali Regional Police, Police Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra, and Commander of the 9th/Udayana Military Region, Armed Forces Major General Maruli Simanjuntak, attended the rally of self-isolating residents pick-up personnel who encourage them to move to centralised isolation facilities (Isoter), consisted of joint personnel from Community Police Unit, Community Armed Forces Unit, and Covid-19 Task Force of Bali Province, that held at Niti Mandala Renon Square, Denpasar, on Saturday (14/7/21).

Chief of Bali Regional Police, Police Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra, stated that not all Covid-19 patients would be directed to Isoter. Patients with adequate houses and neighbourhoods are not asked to move to Isoter. Regarding Isoter's capacity, Bali Provincial Government stated that 3,000 rooms had been prepared to fulfil Covid-19 patient needs in Bali. "In the Isoter, there are medicines, foods, and proper rest. If people are self-isolating, they are not guaranteed access to medicine", he explained.

Police Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra also encouraged all stakeholders to contribute and support this Isoter programme. This programme, according to him, influenced Bali's economic recovery that depends on Tourism. According to him, if Bali's cases are increasing, tourists would hesitate to go to Bali. "Take care of yourself, your beloved, and Bali by going to Isoter. We encourage people tested positive for Covid-19 to go to Isoter", Chief of Regional Police said.

Commander of the 9th/Udayana Military Region, Armed Forces Major General Maruli Simanjuntak, also said that this pick-up policy follows evaluations emphasised by the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.

He stated that there are 8,000 Balinese currently self-isolating. During the pick-up, patients would be informed of the importance of centralised isolation in preventing Covid-19 transmission. "We are conducting better tracing and centralised isolation. We already know that the Covid-19 problem changes every second. Therefore, we do not want to have long-term plans, also related to the other institution on picking up implementation", Commander of the 9th/Udayana Military Region concluded.
