Chasing the MIT Group of Poso, Armed Forces-Police Deploys 1,376 Personnel

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Palu. 1,376 Armed Forces-Police personnel are being deployed in Stage 4 of the Madago Raya Operation. The Task Force is tasked to chase the remaining Mujahidin Indonesia Timur (MIT) group of Poso that are on the wanted list.

Chief of PR Task Force of Madago Raya Operation, Police Grand Commissioner Didik Supranoto, said that the commencement of the operation is three months. The first stage was conducted in January-March, the Second stage on April to June, the Third stage was from July to September, and the Fourth stage on October-December.

On Stage 4, Madago Raya Task Force is divided into six teams consisting of Intelligence, Pre-emptive, Prosecution, Law Enforcement, PR, and Assistance Task Forces.

"There are pre-emptive, prosecution, chasing, and insulation teams", Chief of PR Task Force of Madago Raya Operation said on Wednesday (3/11/2021).

From the data by the Madago Raya Task Force, during the operation commencement, there are several people from the MIT that have been paralysed, one of them being the leader, Ali Kalora.

There are four group members that are still being chased: Askar aka Jadi aka Pak Guru, Mukhlas aka Galuh aka Nae, Ahmad Gazali aka Ahmad Panjang, and Suhardin aka Hasan Pranata.

However, the work focus of the Task Force of Madago Raya Operation not only chasing the remaining of the group but also approaching community in the operation area, so they do not become radicalised.

"It is true. There is the Pre-emptive Task Force to approach the local community", Chief of PR Task Force of Madago Raya Operation said.

Chief of PR Task Force of Madago Raya Operation explained that the Armed Forces-Police personnel of Madago Raya Task Force is still chasing the remaining of the group. They are suspected to be still in the mountainous region in Poso, Parigi Moutong, and Sigi regency.

Besides the terrain, the sympathisers who help this group still become the obstacles for the Armed Forces-Police. Therefore, Didik also advised the remaining four members to surrender soon to the personnel.

"We also advised the community, if they saw the people similar to the one being spread on posters and pamphlets, please report to the Police", Chief of PR Task Force of Madago Raya Operation explained.
