Tribratanews.polri.go.id. – Palangka Raya. Central Kalimantan Regional Police distributed hundreds of basic necessities packages for the residents affected by the flood in Katingan. The Search and Rescue team are departed from Palangka Raya to help the residents.
"There are 250 basic necessities packages distributed. We deploy the SAR team because people need help", Chief of PR and Press Agency of Central Kalimantan Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Eko Saputro.
Chief of PR and Press Agency said that SAR personnel from Sabhara Directorate and Mobile Brigade from Central Kalimantan Regional Police are deployed to help 100 people on location. They are on standby at the flooded place to help resident's evacuation.
Flood in Katingan regency happened due to high rain intensity and flood runoff from the upstream region. Sixty-one villages are affected, and the regional government has activated its emergency response status.
Regional Disaster Management Agency of Katingan stated that 7,000 families are affected by the flood. The one-metre high flood that has been occurred since August 19, 2021, has not subsided until now.
