Central Java Regional Police Successfully Failed International Network Narcotics Circulation at Tanjung Mas Port

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Semarang. The Directorate of Drug Investigation of the Central Java Regional Police has succeeded in uncovering the circulation of international narcotics networks allegedly involving female migrant workers working in Malaysia.

The Female Migrant Worker sent narcotics from Malaysia through the Tanjung Mas Port, Semarang for two residents of Sumenep, Madura, East Java. The two of them were later discovered to be their children.

The shipment of Crystal Meth from Malaysia to Madura, East Java was successfully thwarted at the Tanjung Mas Port, Semarang.

Director of the Central Java Regional Police's Drug Investigation, Pol. Grand Commissioner Lutfi Martadian said that 342 grams of methamphetamine were sent using a freight forwarder through the Tanjung Mas Port, Semarang.

From the cooperation with the Tanjung Mas Customs and Excise, Semarang, it is known that the narcotics smuggling attempt was made, said Pol. Grand Commissioner Lutfi Martadian, in Semarang, Tuesday (09/14/21).

Information obtained by the Police that the illicit goods will be sent to two residents of Sumenep, East Java, namely MY, 26 and ASH 18, both are brothers.

For his actions, the two suspects were charged with Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

Throughout 2021, the Central Java Police together with Tanjung Emas Customs and Excise have thwarted at least three attempts to smuggle methamphetamine from Malaysia. The shipment of illicit goods from Malaysia through the Port of Semarang uses the same method, namely through goods delivery services.
