Central Java Regional Police Investigates Several Companies Related to Waste in Bengawan Solo River

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Semarang. The team from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Central Java Regional Police surveyed directly and visited several companies located on the banks of the river regarding waste pollution in the Bengawan Solo River.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner M Iqbal Alqudusy said that so far the Central Java Regional Police had conducted investigations in several locations, including Mojolaban District, Sukoharjo Regency, there were 45 home industries for the manufacture of alcohol or ethanol (ciu) raw materials.

Then also in the Polokarto sub-district, Sukoharjo Regency, wherein that sub-district there are 88 alcohol-making home industries.

"In addition, we also investigated two companies that received administrative sanctions from the Environment and Forestry Service (DLHK) of Central Java Province," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police, Monday (09/13/2021).

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police explained that the handling of the problem of waste disposal in Bengawan Solo is still in the process of being investigated. Investigators suspect that the waste was dumped on purpose. However, everything is still under investigation.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police so far as investigators have conducted investigations in two large companies. The two companies previously received administrative sanctions from the Provincial DLHK.

“We are checking whether the company is still violating the rules or not."

"If it still violates the rules, then in the investigation process later can be determined as a suspect. As for the small alcohol manufacturing industry, we have researched dozens of small companies in Sukoharjo district,” explained the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police.

“For the Bengawan Solo pollution case, we have requested a list from the DLHK, companies that have received administrative sanctions and companies suspected of polluting the environment. In general, this case is still under serious investigation. As soon as a bright spot is found, it will be immediately escalated into an investigation, "explained the Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Regional Police.
