Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Magelang. – Central Java Regional Police keeps on assisting the regional government in suppressing Covid-19 transmission. One of them through improving effectivity and optimation of the command post of PPKM Mikro (Micro-scaled Public Activity Limitation Enforcement) on villages or subdistricts in all regions of Central Java.
Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, said that based on evaluation conducted after the 2021 Ketupat Candi Operation was held, there were increasing Covid-19 cases in Central Java. The statement was issued while inspecting the vaccination centre in Magelang city yesterday.
Police Inspector Ahmad Luthfi explained that several factors influence rising cases in Central Java, such as halalbihalal tradition (visiting relatives), not adhering to Health Protocols during visiting tourism objects, and boredom among the public to the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
According to the two-star general, people must be encouraged to oblige and aware of suppressing the Covid-19 number by the 5M movement. Therefore, Police will intensify the 5M movement campaign to the public.
We checked PPKM Mikro in Magelang city, and it was tremendously conducted, lead by Community Armed Forces and Police units and head of subdistricts. The proof of the controllable and insignificant rise of the Covid-19 number in Magelang city is thanks to the collaboration between Military District Command and Departmental Police. I hoped that this collaboration could be improved so that the new Covid-19 cases number in Magelang could be minimised as possible", Chief of Central Java Regional Police said.
Police Inspector-General Ahmad Luthfi said that one of the measures in suppressing Covid-19 transmission cases is accelerating vaccination to the people. The acceleration of vaccination progress is conducted to increase immunity and form herd immunity among the public during the pandemic.
"The collaboration between Magelang City Government, Departmental Police, and Military District Command through mass vaccination could lead to huge herd immunity. I hope this is one of the ways to suppress Covid-19 transmission", the Former Chief of Surakarta City Departmental Police concluded.
