Central Java Regional Police Chief Reveals Triggers for Rising Covid Cases in Central Java

Tribratanews.polri.go.id. – Semarang. Central Java Police Regional Chief, Pol. General Inspector Ahmad Luthfi, said in an interview with Police Radio TV regarding the spread of Covid-19 in Central Java. According to the Regional Police Chief, the spread started from After Eid activities, celebrations, religious pilgrimages, and tourist attractions carried out by the people of Central Java after the Eid Mubarak holiday ago.


"This is what triggered the spread of Covid-19 in Central Java until it spread to Kudus Regency, which affected some Kudus residents who were confirmed to have Covid-19. For that, we focus on the Kudus area in handling it," explained the Regional Police Chief.


The Regional Police Chief also said that in handling Covid-19 in Central Java, the Regional Police Chief had carried out Contingency Management for all National Police in Central Java. The Central Java Regional Police do this in tackling the increasing Covid-19 problem in Central Java.


Especially for handlers in Kudus Regency, the Regional Police Chief, the Central Java Regional Police and the Central Java Regional Government have prepared 800 rooms in the Donohudan Boyolali Hajj Dormitory for the centralized isolation of patients from Kudus. In addition, other places that have been prepared, namely dormitory (RUSUNAWA), King hotels, training and education centres in Semarang and so on, are places for isolation of residents exposed to Covid-19.


"From the points that have been used as places of independent isolation, this isolation place, 1,700 rooms are available, and this has begun gradually for people who have confirmed Covid-19, we transport them to the isolation location, once every two weeks," explained the Regional Police Chief.


The Regional Police Chief added that every day 100 people were gathered to inform about the dangers of Covid-19. He also asked the public to apply the 5 M and 3T to avoid Covid-19.


The Regional Police Chief continued, 11 districts are included in the red zone and three more districts are included in the red zone. The Regional Police Chief admitted that the red zones in each district are increasing. For this reason, he asked the public's awareness to carry out health protocols every day and at any time.


"Of the 14 regencies in Central Java that are included in the red zone, we focus on handling them in three regencies and one city, namely, Kudus, Demak, Sragen and Semarang, because the active cases in these three areas are already above 600 to 700. They want them to have to undergo isolation and we also really apply the management of handling Covid-19 in the area," he said.


The Central Java Regional Police Chief also said that related to vaccination, and the Central Java Police continued to carry out mass vaccinations every day, even the Central Java Police had deployed 750 health workers at the mass vaccination locations.


"We prioritize mass vaccinations in the red zone and the elderly over the age of 50. And we continue to promote this, especially in Kudus district," he said.
