Central Java Regional Police Chief Entertains Earthquake Affected Residents in Ambarawa

Inspector-General Ahmad Lutfi. The Central Java Regional Police Chief visited the Earthquake Evacuation Command Post in Pojoksari Village, Ambarawa District, Semarang Regency with key officials.

There are 120 adults and 80 children in the refugee camp. Their existence is temporary, waiting for the development of the situation until they return to their respective homes. The presence of the Regional Police Chief at the location was greeted by several children who cheerfully sang the song "welcome father". Having clapped along with the children, the Regional Police Chief immediately chatted with several refugee residents.

"What do the people here lack? If there is anything, you can contact the Chief of Police. What facilities are lacking here? How about it, is it good here or at home?" explained the Central Java Regional Police Chief.

The joke from the Regional Police Chief made the atmosphere fluid so that it provoked the residents to have a longer intimate dialogue. The Regional Police Chief provided motivation and consolation for residents to be patient after the swarm earthquake hit their village.

The Regional Police Chief also gave several basic foodstuffs and gifts to the residents in the refugee camps. In a press statement, Inspector-General Ahmad Luthfi said his visit with the leading officials and the Regional Leadership Communication Forum of Semarang district was to check the earthquake's impact. Of the eight sub-districts, three places were affected by the earthquake. For the benefit of the residents in the refugee camps, the Regional Police Chief continued, shared kitchens belonging to the National Police and the National Armed Forces have been prepared to anticipate further incidents.
"This visit also includes checking the implementation of the health protocols. Even in the refugee camps, the health protocols must still be carried out. Therefore, the Regional Police's Medical and Health division, together with the National Armed Forces and the Regional Government, will continue to monitor. We pray that there will be no aftershocks," he said.

According to the Regional Police Chief, the swarm earthquake that occurred in Semarang Regency and the region did not severely impact physical buildings. The community members were only slightly traumatized. "Children are prepared to go back to school, and our mothers provide direction for health and psychological trauma recovery," explained the Central Java Regional Police Chief.

Based on the Semarang Resort Police data, the earthquake swarm that occurred resulted in minor damage to buildings owned by residents and the government. A total of 96 patients at Ambarawa Hospital had to be diverted after the building where they were being treated was cracked.

Meanwhile, in Jambi District, two buildings belonging to residents have cracked with material losses of IDR 1 million each. Meanwhile, in Banyubiru District, one resident's house has cracks on the walls and kitchen floor.
