Caring for Flood Victims, South Kalimantan Regional Police Distribute Thousands of Food Packages for Flood Victims in Hul Sungai Tengah

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Banjarmasin. The South Kalimantan Regional Police distributed 2,831 food packages to flood-affected residents in Hulu Sungai Tengah (HST) Regency.

The thousands of food packages, including rice, sugar, coffee, tea, instant noodles, mineral water, sardines, blankets, press and baby milk, were transported by trucks.

South Kalimantan Regional Police's Directorate of Samapta, Pol. Grand Commissioner Pepen Supena Wijaya explained that the assistance was a form of empathy for the South Kalimantan Regional Police.

"A total of 2,831 basic food packages include 1,100 packages from Regional Unit assistance and 1,731 Work Units package from the South Kalimantan Regional Police," explained Pol. Grand Commissioner Pepen Supena Wijaya, Wednesday (12/01/21).

South Kalimantan Regional Police's Directorate of Samapta hopes that this sharing step can help ease the burden on the community and give victims the courage and strength to face disasters.

"The National Police are always ready to provide community protection, especially in handling disasters such as floods," said the Intermediate Officer of the South Kalimantan Regional Police.

Until now, floods with varying water levels still inundate seven sub-districts in Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, which have occurred since Sunday (11/28) after heavy rains caused local rivers to overflow., Pol.
