Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Yogyakarta. Being a member of an elite corps of the Police do not make the personnel of Yogyakarta Regional Mobile Brigade Corps awkward in becoming teachers. They went to the community hall to tutor the elementary school students.
Dozens of distanced tables and chairs arranged in Gendeng community hall, Baciro, Yogyakarta, was filled by the local children on Tuesday morning (22/6/2021). They were enthusiastically listened to and followed instructions when the personnel of the C Batallion of Yogyakarta Regional Mobile Brigade Corps asked dozens of children to submit their homework.
Deputy Commander of C Pelopor Troops, Police Commissioner Attendant Agus Setyo Prambudi, said that the activity is a part of the Brimob Ramah Anak Indonesia (Brain) (lit. Indonesian Child's Friendly Mobile Brigade) programme, which was launched since last year's pandemic. The programme was established to assist the government in the education sector during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Communities and the children are enthusiastic. Moreover, the parents who have to work so they cannot accompany their kids on online studying during the pandemic. This activity was conducted from Monday to Friday and helped by teacher-based volunteers targeting pre-Elementary School to the fifth graders", Deputy Commander of C Pelopor Troops explained.
Deputy Commander of C Pelopor Troops added that children are introduced to discipline manners, character building, ethics, and national history besides academic teachings. The expectation is that they have nationalism in their soul since they are little.
The activity also adhered to Health Protocols as measures to suppress Covid-19 transmission. During the "Brain" activity, Police Commissioner Attendant Agus Setyo Prambudi was also accompanied by Police Inspector 1st Class M. Kristianto, Police Sub-Inspector 1st Class Subarno, and Police Brigadier 2nd Class Aziz Fauzan.
