Blackmailing Victims Up to Tens of Millions, Four Fake Police Arrested

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The police arrested four fake police officers who blackmailed a cosmetic shop owner in the Jatisari Village area, Jatiasih District, Bekasi City.

Bekasi Metro Police Chief, Pol. Grand Commissioner Aloysius Suprijadi named four suspects, each with the initials (PR), (T), (AS) and (GM).

"We have arrested four suspects; this blackmailing and confinement took place on September 18, 2021," he said.

Beside being Blackmailed from IDR 50 million, the victim named (Wahyudi) was also held in the car. In carrying out their actions, this group accused the victims of selling illegal drugs without a permit and blackmailing them.

The Bekasi City Resort Police Chief explained that the perpetrator who used a car came to the victim and claimed to be an officer and carried out a raid on a shop owned by the victim that sold eczema pills. The victim was then intimidated for selling illegal drug products.

"The perpetrators then took the money in the store amounting to IDR 650,000; the victim was then asked to come into the car," he said.

In the car, the perpetrators took the victim around while being intimidated. They argued that the victim was considered to have violated the law on drug trafficking.

Then the perpetrators asked the victim to contact their family and were forced to pay IDR 50 million to avoid being detained on the charges. However, the family could not fulfil the request.

When he arrived at the entrance to the Cilincing Toll Road, North Jakarta, the victim screamed and was heard by local officials. Officers then stopped the vehicle. From there, the victim was rescued, and the perpetrators were immediately arrested.
