Tribratanews.polri.go.id-Jambi. Directorate of Drug Investigation of Jambi Regional Police has succeeded in arresting drug dealers operating in Jambi province and its surroundings.
At the press conference, Chief of Jambi Regional Police, Police Inspector General Albertus Rachmad Wibowo, said Directorate of Drug Investigation had successfully uncovered evidence of 9 kilograms of methamphetamine.
Chief of Jambi Regional Police explained on July 13, 2021, investigators had arrested two people, a courier with initial NMY and initial B as recipients of 1 kg of methamphetamine.
The two were arrested in an empty house in Sungai Badar Village, Batang Asam District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, at around 02.30 Indonesia Western Time.
Chief of Jambi Regional Police continued, after the case was developed, last July 23, Directorate of Drug Investigation again arrested a suspect with the initials FN. From the suspect FN, police obtained evidence of 8 kg of methamphetamine known to have come from Pekanbaru and would be taken to Palembang using a car with the number BG 9653 CE.
The drug dealers were arrested on Jambi - Palembang border, at Ibru Village, Mestong District, Muaro Janbi Regency, at around 11.30 Indonesia Western Time.
During the arrest, police were forced to shoot the drug dealer and his vehicle, because the drug dealer tried to escape.
“When arrested, the perpetrator fled so they had to shoot the car, up to 4 shots. But the suspect is safe, it's okay, " Chief of Jambi Regional Police explained.
For these actions, the perpetrators were suspected and charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) and Article 112 paragraph (2) Jo 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 Year 2009 on Narcotics.
