Several public facilities such as Public Health Centre, medical workers' houses, Elementary and Junior High schools, teacher's house, and Village Pavilion were burned suspiciously by Armed Criminal Group (KKB) on Tuesday morning, September 14, 2021.
Chief of PR Task Force of Nemangkawi, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said that on the date above at 13.30, Pegunungan Bintang Departmental Police received a public report that there has been an arson incident to public facilities such as Public Health Centre, medical workers' houses, Elementary and Junior High schools, teacher's house, and Village Pavilion, and conducted by KKB. Receiving the report, joint personnel of Armed Forces-Police and Nemangkawi Task Force coordinated to move to the location.
The perpetrators are the KKB, and the victim is the Regional Government of Pegunungan Bintang regency.
Public facilities that burned down are Public Health Centre, medical workers' houses, Elementary and Junior High schools, teacher's house, and Village Pavilion.
Chief of PR Task Force of Nemangkawi, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, added that Police is now receiving reports, coordinating with Armed Forces and regional government, and chasing the KKB.
"We regret this incident. The public facilities we maintained together for the development have been burned by the KKB. The joint forces of Armed Forces-Police and Nemangkawi Task Force would keep chasing the perpetrators who disturb security stability in Papua province.
Chief of PR Task Force of Nemangkawi continued that the distance of the crime scene with the capital of Pegunungan Bintang regency is really far, and the distance between Pegunungan Bintang regency to Jayapura could be reached by one hour of flight. "As another information, we are approaching 20th National Sports Week (PON XX) Papua of 2021, so let's maintain community security and order to be safe and conducive, and PON could run safely and successfully".
