Approaching Chrismas and New Year, Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police Advice People to Stay at Home

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Medan. North Sumatera Regional Police are formulating measures on Covid-19 prevention and handling approaching Christmas and New Year (Nataru). Some measures are proposed, such as traffic insulation in several locations to limit public mobilisation.

"We will conduct such as traffic insulation to minimise public mobility. We advise people during the Nataru event not to travel anywhere", Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police, Police Inspector General RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak, said on Tuesday (2/11/21).

"Let's celebrate Nataru at home", he added.

The two-star general said that the effort is conducted to ensure a controlled Covid-19 case rate in North Sumatera. Moreover, according to the Chief of Regional Police, the confirmed Covid-19 case rate is decreasing.

"The Nataru holidays becomes our challenge. I ask people not to be too lax in enforcing Health Protocols, despite the decreasing Covid-19 cases. Keep enforce the Health Protocols", he said.

Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police said that North Sumatera Regional Police also would chase the vaccination achievement, especially for the students and elders.

On the same occasion, the Chief of Regional Police said that he is also paying attention to chasing vaccination achievement in remote islands of North Sumatera, such as Nias island. He stated that several areas in Nias, such as West, North, and South Nias, is still far from the vaccination target. There is also Langkat regency with only 40% population being vaccinated.

"Nias, with the challenging geographical characteristics, makes us deploy special vaccinator team that will serve people in the vaccination commencement by door-to-door system", he concluded.
