So, said the Chief of Indonesian National Police, the Central Government will carry out policies to handle and control the growth rate of the coronavirus, which is called the Second Wave.
“So the Central Government made a policy on how to deal with the situation at that time, we entered the Micro Restriction (PPKM), then the Emergency of Micro Restriction (PPKM). At that time, it was to inhibit and regulate to reduce the rate of mobility because it is one of the key parts of reducing the rate of Covid-19," said the Chief of Indonesian National Police.
The Central Government, continued the Chief of Indonesian National Police, also strengthens activities such as adding locations for community isolation. Remember, at that time, the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) rate was very high. Thus, the Government has prepared a new isolation place to help the capacity of the Kemayoran Athlete House.
"There is a new isolation place to add to the Athlete's House, there is the Nagrak Pasar Rumput Flat, there is an integrated isolation in other areas we are building," said the Chief of Indonesian National Police.
In addition, the Central Government is also strengthening tracing and testing as well as treatment or 3T. The Chief of Indonesian National Police said that the Government had to determine which ones had to be treated in Integrated Isolation and which had to be treated at the hospital.
Not only that, but the Chief of Indonesian National Police also stated that the Central Government, through the Minister of Health, was also encouraging and accelerating mass vaccination. "We, together with the Commander moving to accelerate the mass vaccination activity so that it can be carried out more quickly," said the Chief of Indonesian National Police.
According to the Chief of Indonesian National Police, on July 1, the Indonesian Government's target of one million vaccines in one day has been realized. And currently, the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), has set a target to carry out two million vaccine doses in one day.
"The President has given a target that by the end of the month it will reach two million. But, of course, steps need to be taken so that this figure can be realized. We have carried out various strategies for carrying out vaccinations, of course, starting from vaccination booths, Indonesian National Armed Forces-Indonesian National Police vaccination raids, mobile vaccinations to touch unreachable areas, and some time ago when I came up with the idea how to accelerate the Chief of Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police in welcoming the idea of Merdeka vaccination, " said the Chief of Indonesian National Police.
Currently, the Chief of Indonesian National Police is grateful. The target of free vaccination in Jakarta has reached 100 per cent for the first dose of vaccination. In fact, this achievement has occurred since last August 8th.
According to the Chief of Indonesian National Police, the achievement of the target was due to the organization and hard work of volunteers, Local Government and elements of society who are already willing to work hand in hand to pursue targets from the Government regarding vaccination.
“This vaccination can be carried out at the lowest level at the Hamlet level, in 900 Hamlet if I'm not mistaken, assisted by the strength of more than 3,000 volunteer teams. So then that achievement can be achieved," said the Chief of Indonesian National Police.
Even so, the Chief of Indonesian National Police stressed, it must be a stepping stone to pursue the Government's target of realizing Herd Immunity or immunity of the Indonesian people group of 70 per cent.
“And this activity, of course, I order all regions to replicate and adopt what the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police have done. So that the Central Government's vaccinations are strengthened by the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the Indonesian National Police to support the acceleration of vaccination in the Provinces and Regencies so that it can run well and the community will feel the acceleration and the results," said the Chief of Indonesian National Police.
Although the achievement of the first dose in Jakarta was 100 per cent, the Chief of Indonesian National Police challenged the Chief Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Inspector General Fadil Imran, to complete 100 per cent of the second dose.
"But I still challenge the end of August, the beginning of September the second dose of 100 per cent I call on all regions to do the same, we work hand in hand and work together. Ministry of Health, Indonesian National Armed Forces, Indonesian National Police to support the activities of all regions in the Province and District.
