West Nusa Tenggara: National Armed Forces Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inspected the Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Sunday (11/07/2021), ahead of the upcoming Asian Talent Cup and World Superbike Championship (WSBK).
The National Armed Forces Commander and the National Police Chief checked directly to ensure that the security, handling, and control of Covid-19 went well, starting from preparation during the event until the end of the international event.
In the next few days, international events will be held in Mandalika, starting from the Asian Talent Cup to Superbike championships. Of course, this will be a test for us whether we can carry out international events. However, we can maintain the growth rate of Covid-19, Sigit told reporters after visiting the Mandalika Circuit.
To prevent the growth rate of the coronavirus, Sigit emphasized that all relevant parties in West Nusa Tenggara, together with the National Armed Forces, National Police, Health Office, volunteers, community and religious leaders, must work together accelerate the acceleration of Covid-19 vaccination. With the acceleration of vaccination, the former Banten Regional Police Chief said that communal immunity from the coronavirus would soon be realized. Thus, the implementation of international events can run well in terms of security and health.
Therefore, we always remind that the acceleration of vaccination is to ensure that our people have immunity and immunity to Covid-19, said the former Police Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit.
In addition to accelerating vaccination, Sigit emphasized that health protocols (prokes) must be strengthened in the community. Remember, this is still an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
"Of course, so that the process continues to be carried out strongly. So that we can carry out the event well, the pace of Covid-19 can be maintained, and the impact of economic growth will be better," said Sigit.
Sigit also feels optimistic that the implementation of international events in West Nusa Tenggara will run safely and pay attention to health factors. According to Sigit, this is similar to the 2021 National Sports Week (PON) success in Papua some time ago. Activities that run smoothly can go hand in hand between safety and health factors. Thus, it does not result in an explosion in the number of Covid-19 after the national event.
"Some time ago, the 2021 National Sports Week went well while maintaining the progress. Thanks God, the growth of Covid-19 at that time could be managed so that a third wave did not appear," said Sigit.
In more detail, Sigit revealed that Indonesia is at the top rank in Southeast Asia in suppressing the coronavirus's growth rate. According to him, it was thanks to the hard work and cooperation of all elements.
"As colleagues know for the hard work of all elements of the National Armed Forces, National Police, Health Office groups, volunteers, Indonesian State Intelligence Agency and all those involved as vaccinators and steps in carrying out and escorting the health protocol, now our numbers are excellent compared to some time ago. . Even Indonesia occupies the first position in Southeast Asia in the Nikkei index. All of this must be maintained, both national and international events," said Sigit.
In order to ensure the implementation of the international event went well and safely, the National Armed Forces Commander and the National Police Chief also chaired a briefing meeting with the West Nusa Tenggara's Regional Leadership Communication Forum. Sigit emphasized that if the Asian Talent Cup and WSBK can run well, West Nusa Tenggara, especially at the Mandalika Circuit, will hold the 2022 Moto GP event.
Sigit appreciated the West Nusa Tenggara's Regional Leadership Communication Forum because it has a good record of handling and controlling Covid-19. Among them is an acceleration of vaccination. In the report received, Sigit explained that the first dose of vaccination in West Mataram was 96 percent. Meanwhile, Central Lombok captured 70.94 percent.
"This move is good enough and has an impact on the positivity rate and other numbers. For example, in West Nusa Tenggara, everything has decreased; the update cases are compared to the national one; for West Nusa Tenggara, the positivity rate is below 0.11 percent, while the national figure is 0.37 percent. So I think it is work that pays off. So this is also, of course, a capital to enter into preparing for the implementation of activities in Mandalika," said Sigit.
Sigit hopes that West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police's Regional Leadership Communication Forum will continue to anticipate and maintain the current good trend despite positive progress. This is to anticipate the slightest risk associated with the spike in Covid-19.
As directed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Sigit said, all parties should not be careless or negligent to prevent unwanted things from happening, such as the third wave of Covid-19. Furthermore, health protocols must remain disciplined, although currently, there is a decrease in assessments related to Community Activity Restriction Enforcement levels accompanied by easing of community activities.
"Must check all existing hospitals and anticipate because there is a risk with lowering that number and lowering the level of assessment that has an impact on the number of activities. Furthermore, it is anticipated that this slack should not be careless or negligent until finally, without us realizing it, we are missed, and a third wave appears," said Sigit.
"Experience at the end of the year we always face situations such as holidays, and after holidays the numbers go up. So please keep the numbers that are already good," added Sigit at the same time ending.
