Aceh Regional Police Securs 5 People Suspected of Police Post Shooting in West Aceh

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. The Aceh Regional Police have arrested five Southwest Acehnese (Abdya) in connection with the shooting of the Panton Reu Police Post at the West Aceh Resort Police by an unknown person (OTK), Thursday (10/28/21).

A team from the Ditreskrimum and Criminal Investigation Unit of West Aceh Resort Police has conducted a crime scene and is still investigating, Friday (10/29/21).

"We have arrested five people who are still suspected of being involved in the shooting of the police post. This is still in the process of being investigated about their motives and alibis. So currently, the team is still working. We are both waiting for the results from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation team and the West Aceh Resort Police's Crime Investigation Unit to reveal this case as clearly as possible," said the Head of Public Relations.

His party is also investigating whether these five people were involved in the incident and looking for a motive for the shooting.

"We are waiting for the Directorate of Criminal Investigation team to update again whether these five people were involved in the shooting. Later we will adjust it with the existing evidence and the witnesses who have taken statements around the crime scene," explained the Head of Public Relations.

All motives and evidence in the vicinity will be investigated, and then the mapping is carried out one by one, collecting strong evidence to identify the perpetrators.

At the same time, the Head of Public Relations said that around the crime scene, 44 bullet shell casings were found, 16 projectiles with a calibre of 7.62 and 22 projectiles of a calibre of 5.56. Then on the side of the wall, there are also holes in which there are six projectiles.

The Head of Public Relations continued, the projectiles would later be sent to the Forensic Laboratory in Medan to find out what type of projectile came from what type of weapon.

"We don't want to speculate on the type of weapon because the bullets can be used with various types of weapons. Therefore, we are waiting; later, we will send it to the Forensic Laboratory in Medan and determine approximately what kind of shells and projectiles came out of this weapon," said the Head of Public Relations.
