Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Pangkal Pinang. The Directorate of Water and Air Police of the Bangka Belitung Island's Regional Police (Babel) again provided mass vaccination services for the community, Tuesday (09/14/2021). The first dose of the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccination is targeted at coastal communities and fishermen in Sungailiat Bangka.

Bangka Belitung Regional Police's Directorate of Water and Air Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner M. Zainul said the vaccination service for coastal communities and fishermen is an effort to suppress cases of transmission from various types of transmission.

A total of 600 people have been registered as participants in this mass vaccination activity, explained the Directorate of Bangka Belitung Island Regional Police's Water and Air Police.

In addition to suppressing transmission cases, vaccines are needed to protect and strengthen the health system as a whole, including reducing morbidity and mortality due to severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).

"We provide comprehensive vaccination services for coastal communities and fishermen in the work area with a target number of approximately 3,000 people for the age level of mandatory vaccination," explained the Bangka Belitung Island Regional Police's Directorate of Water and Air Police.

Bangka Belitung Island Regional Police's Directorate of Water and Air Police said that participants or people who had been vaccinated received rice assistance to help meet their family's food needs.

"From the registrar's data, coastal communities and fishermen who participated in the first dose of vaccination today are quite enthusiastic, and have even met the target quota. The same service and type of vaccine for the second dose will be determined by health workers," explained Bangka Belitung Island Regional Police's Directorate of Water and Air Police.

Vaccination services for coastal communities and fishermen are centered at the Jelitik Sungailiat Water Police Post, involving a number of officers from the Medical and Health Division (Biddokes) of the Bangka Belitung Island's Regional Police.

"The choice of the Sinovac vaccine took into account the interests of coastal communities and fishermen who chose the vaccine, citing the low effect after being vaccinated," explained Bangka Belitung Island Regional Police's Directorate of Water and Air Police.

This vaccination service, he said, is part of strengthening the National Police in supporting the handling of Covid-19 by strengthening the synergy between the National Armed Forces and other institutions.

"I urge all communities, especially coastal communities and fishermen to remain disciplined in implementing health procedures even though they have been vaccinated and many activities are at sea. Because the spread of the Corona virus can occur from various clusters," explained Bangka Belitung Island Regional Police's Directorate of Water and Air Police.
