About Seventeen Countries Ready to Attend the World Policewomen Conference in Labuan Bajo

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Kupang. Policewomen from 17 countries are ready to attend the International Association of Woman Police (IAWP) Conference, which will be held in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, in November 2021.

"The number of delegates depends on the decision of each country and will arrive in early November 2021," said the Head of International Relations Division (Kadivhubinter) Pol. Inspector-General Johanis Asadoma.

In a press conference in Labuan Bajo, Asadoma said that the international conference would be held on November 6, 2021. Meanwhile, the countries participating in the World Policewomen Conference include Australia, Timor Leste, Turkey, Canada, South Korea, the Philippines, Germany, Taiwan. Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and Ghana. The World Policewomen Conference should present 300-500 female policewomen representatives from 50 countries in the world.

Kadivhubinter said various preparations had been made so that Labuan Bajo was ready to host the IAWP implementation. It has established infrastructure and other supporting facilities. He has also ensured the readiness and support of the local government, business actors, the community, and the security forces.

Furthermore, the Head of the International Relations Division explained that the implementation of the activity would implement strict health protocols. The participants will take PCR swab specimens and wear masks during the activity. In addition, the examination of various tourist attractions that participants will visit has also been well prepared.

Later, Indonesia will send five policewomen as envoys from each Regional Police throughout Indonesia. Asadoma said that the policewomen who were elected to represent Indonesia were competent. Therefore, all policewomen can have the same pattern to realize Women at the Center Stage of Policing by holding this event.

He also said that the activity received special attention from the National Police Chief, General Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Mrs. Julianti Sigit Prabowo., As Chairwomen of Foster Policewomen, Julianti hopes that these activities can excite and increase the capacity of Policewomen of the Police to have careers at national and international levels.

On that occasion, the Head of the East Nusa Tenggara Police, Pol. Inspector-General Lotharia Latif said that he had made additional reinforcement of the West Manggarai Police personnel and the addition of the Mobile Brigade Corps in West Manggarai. Furthermore, the East Nusa Tenggara Police is willing to support other supporting infrastructure facilities to facilitate these activities.
