Tribratanews.polri.go.id - JAKARTA. Chief of Indonesian National Police, Listyo Sigit Prabowo, delivered his highest appreciation to the Policewomen personnel who keep working and struggling to protect all Indonesians.
In the middle of the 73rd-anniversary momentum, Sigit hoped that Policewoman could become a Srikandi, or a hero, who would make the Indonesian National Police proud.
"I, as the Chief of Indonesian National Police, say happy anniversary. Keep working, conduct the duties excellently, and be the Srikandi who makes the Indonesian National Police proud", Sigit said during the thanksgiving event of the 73rd Anniversary of Indonesian Policewomen in the Indonesian National Police Headquarter, South Jakarta, which broadcasted virtually on Wednesday (1/9).
According to the former Chief of Banten Regional Police, until today, Policewoman keeps showing their existence and progress in conducting duties, either operational, education, or supervision. Many strategic positions are starting to be filled by policewomen.
"In the past, there was my senior who was a Chief of Regional Police. Now there is also Policewoman in Primary Officials, Deputy Chief of Regional Police, Chief of Bureau, Chief of Departmental Police, Deputy Chief of Departmental Police, Chief of Sectoral Police, and becomes the personnel having duties on the frontline", the former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police said.
Furthermore, Sigit emphasises the Policewoman as an example for the public, Police neighbourhood, and family. Besides being a Police, Policewomen also take a role as the housewife. Therefore both parts must be conducted with balance.
"Because, on one hand, dear colleagues have a duty as a Police. But on the other side, for the ones with family, they also have a role as the housewife. These are the roles that must be conducted with balance so everything could run better", Sigit explained.
In the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sigit emphasises the importance of the Policewoman. According to him, the Policewoman personnel must be on the frontline to help the government suppress the Covid-19 transmission.
Regarding the aforementioned things, Sigit admitted that he sees policewomen keep actively involved in campaigning and education activities and distributing social aid. Then they also apply in vaccination acceleration and return and burial of deceased Coronavirus patients.
With the cooperation and hard work by the government, Armed Forces, Police, and public elements, the Covid-19 growth now could be suppressed. However, the Health Protocols must be observed to avoid other significant rising cases.
"We have to maintain this trend. If we can, we have to suppress it. These results will happen if we keep in synergy and hard work to maintain the relaxation policies because now some regions have their Covid level downgraded and the relaxation policies being enforced. During these implementations, the crowd potential would increase if we cannot control the Covid-19, which leads to resurging cases. Therefore, this is the role, mainly of our Policewomen colleagues, to strengthen education, provide examples, and remind the public to always implement strict Health Protocols", Sigit said.
Not only that, but Sigit also mentioned that Policewomen also must be active in achieving government targets on national vaccination programme acceleration to achieve herd immunity.
"This is where the Police, especially policewomen, needed. We hope they could give us more colour and their firm and flexibility. With their womanly attitude, Policewomen would look more humane. On the other hand, we have to give people a chance so the economy can grow. Therefore, it requires our special needs, patience, flexibility, and ability to remind them firmly and humanely so that our message could be understood by the public. Just like our guidance: Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto. Public safety is the highest law. We must abide by it", Sigit said.
Not only that, in the information technology industrial revolution era, Sigit also emphasises all Policewomen to be wiser and think more carefully on their act because policewomen also reflect the Indonesian National Police.
"I always say that every individual act affects the institution, mainly in this information technology industrial revolution era. Therefore, any daily habit or activity should be embedded with those that could make our institution proud. Remember that every appearance brings consequences. If we show positive things, it will make our institution proud, and it goes otherwise. So please carefully think of every step and activity, mainly when you are utilising the information technology that is becoming a trend for us now", Sigit said.
In the 73rd Anniversary of the Indonesian Policewoman, Chief of Indonesian National Police and Foster Mother of Indonesian Policewoman, Julianti Sigit Prabowo, gave a golden pin to the outstanding Policewoman.
